FALSE DECLARATION.
CHARGE AGAINST WOMAN.
COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.
A plea of not guilty was entered in the Police Court this morning before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., by Marie Louisa Burgess (Mr. Schramm) to a charge of making J9?7, ; a false declaration befdre jtistice Of the peace in order to procure a duplicate certificate of registration as a barmaid.
Chief Detective Hammond prosecuted. In the declaration the accused stated that shet'had at'certain stated times been employed in certain hotels. The prosecution called witnesses, who said that Accused w;as not employed in the hotels at thetimes stated.
The defence was reserved, and accused committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
