SYDNEY WOOL SALES.
A FIRM MARKET. SYDNEY, February 1. The seventh series of wool sales has concluded. All the best features of recent sales were reproduced and the market closed firm, with values equal to the best point of the series. Competition was vigorous and full and satisfactory clearances were effected. Comebacks and crossbreds realised full late rates. Greasy Merino sold to 38d. LONDON MARKET. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, February 1. The wool sales closed at the highest level of the series. The total bales catalogued were 109,510. It is estimated sales for Home were 42,510, for the Continent 51,500, and for America 2500, held 13.000. Merinos hardened during the sales. Greasies closed per cent to 5 per cent above December rates. Scoureds. par to 5 per cent. Crossbreds, finer grades fully 10 per cent, medium low grades 15 per cent; slipes, scoureds, 5 per cent to 10 per cent, and lambs, fully 5 per cent.
