The camera is undoubtedly the friend of the holiday maker. Impressions of visits to all parts of tlie province are being retained in a picture shape by hundreds of Aucklanders, who are enjoying the break in the work of the year. The "Star's" photographic competition has proved that, for since it was promoted a few weeks ago, some five hundred camera owners have contributed to it. Pleasant memories of restful hours away from the cares of the ordinary routine of the year can be revived by tlie person wlio can use a camera. One's friends can be taken io that atmosphere by studying these photographic records, but the "Stars timely competition has provided a much wider circle for that enjoyment.
