Banker Leaves An Irksome Life. TAKES FAMILY WITH HIM. BERLIN, January 27. An unsigned letter that has been received by the police at Gotha states: "Last night the banker Droste voluntarily left this arduous and irksome life and took his family with him to a better beyond." An investigation led to the discovery that the banker had shot his wife and two little daughters and himself. The letter proceeded to refer to "Black Friday," May 13, on which date the Bourse credit was drastically restricted. Droste's liabilities, it is stated, total £25,000. The amount of his assets has not yet been ascertained.
