PROVINCIAL OARSMEN'S TEST
Xlie committee of the Hamilton Regatta have all arrangements completed for the l big rowing gala on the Waikato River o-i Monday next. Anniversary Day. A very interesting programme of rowing races has been provided, and the response by the rowing clubs throughout the Auckland Province has exceeded the committee's anticipations. All the best crews are competing, and some very hard, close racing is anticipated. The eight-oar races, to be seen for the first time on the Waikato River, will alone prove an attraction. The crews comprise the best oarsmen of the province, who are being tried out for the purpose of selecting an Auckland interprovlncial eight-oar crew. The opportunity of seeing such crews in action very seldom occnrs. In addition to the fine boating racing, an attractive programme of dancing and sideshows is also provided. Given fine weather, spectators should spend a most enjoyable day. The river banks offer a natural grandstand, from which to view everything in comfort. Special excursion trains will also be run.
