WAGES IN AUSTRALIA.
INCREASES IN STATES.

MELBOURNE, this day.
Figures issued by the Trades Hah Research and Information Bureau show that with the exception of Melbourne and Adelaide there will be increases in wages in all States. • In Melbourne the new rate operating from February 1 will be £4 9/6, a decrease of 6d, or a daily rate of 14/5; in Adelaide it will be £4 7/, a decrease of 1/; in Sydney there will be an increase of 2/6, making the new rato £4 13/ weekly. There will be an increase of 1/ weekly in Brisbane, making £4 0/6; an Increase of 6d in Perth, making the new rate £4; and 1/ in Hobart, making it £4 4/. The average for 30 towns in Australia f;ives the wage at £4 8/ weekly, or an ncrease of 1/, while for the six capital cities the wage is £4 9/, an increase of 1/. These rates apply to all awards under the Federal Court.
