A long lonely flight of nearly 9000 miles, from San Francisco -irs Wellington, New Zealand, via Honolulu, Brisbane and Sydney, was .commenced yesterday morning by Capt. F. A. Giles, the Australian aviator.
Seldom, if ever, in the history of aviation has an airman undertaken such a hazardous flight, and its achievement will be an epoch-making event in man's conquest of the air.
