THE LATEST MOTORING NOVELTY.
The road yacht or tabloid "home-on-wheels" and touring-hou*e, up-to-date with wireless and gramophone, etc. To cope .with the enormous increase of people who appreciate the joys of motor caravanning, a wonderful road yacht has been designed, which is light in weight, fully equipped with all domestic conveniences, adaptable to any moderate-powered touring car chassis, and to be purchased at the price of an ordinary well-formed touring car. In shape it is similar to a tank, with an overall length of 18ft, width of 6ft 6in, a lengthened wheel-base of 12ft, and is mounted on a six-cylinder Erslcine chassis. The body is divided into five compartmnets, including two single berth cabins with all bedroom fitments, a living room to seat five complete with wireless and gramophone compartment, a well-equipped galley with electric oven, etc., and a shower bath cabinet. Water is obtained from two tanks at the stern of the body. The driver's seat is a movable, comfortable chair, which is hooked behind the steering wheel when the car is being driven. Here is seen a side view of the 16 h.p. road yacht with a touring speed of 48 miles per hour. Three large sloping screens can be seen in the front compartment, the centre of which is of the divided type. All are furnished with wind-screen wipers, suction or electrically-controlled, while an electrically-operated direction indicator is fitted.
