WANGANUI WOOL SALE.
BRADFORD MORE ACTIVE.
TOP PRICE FOR CROSSBRED, 20id.
WANGANUI, this day.
Eleven thousand bales were offered at the Wanganui wool sale to-day, against 8000 at the corresponding sale last year. There was a full bench of buyers, and bidding was active throughout. Bradford was more noticeably on the market than at any previous sale this season. The Continent was buying freely, with keen competition from-Ger-many at intervals.
All good hogget wool brought exceedingly good prices, particularly any well classed and skirted. The only line that showed a slight slackening, as compared with other sales, was pieces.
Lambs were neglected, owing, no doubt, to the absence of orders, as it is too early in the season for this class of wool.
The top price of the sale for crossbred was 20Jd, while numerous lines of fine hogget wool sold at 14d, 15d and - 16cL
