AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET.

TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE

Business showed improvement oil 'Change to-day.. Sales of Wellington Woollen ordinary shares took place at £6 4/6, an advance on the previous buying price. South British Insurance firmed slightly, sales being made at 56/9.

War Loans, per cent, 1938, had business at £96 15/, the previous buyer having offered five shillings under that figure. Harbour Board 6 per cent are still wanted at £102.

Contributing Northern Steam shares were placed to-day at 6/9, and Commercial Bank ordinary issue sold at 29/. Buyers of Bank of New -South Wales shares advanced their offers to £44 15/, and for Pukemiro Collieries 60/6 could be got. Hikurangi Coal A preference shares sold at 7/, and Auckland Gas contributing issue at 16/11.

In mining shares, sales occurred of Lucky Shots at 1/5, and Ohinemuris were placed at 6/4.
