LAMB EXPORT TRADE.
WAIKATO TO THE FORE,
EARLY FOR LONDON MARKET
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
HAMILTON, this day,
Lambs for export exhibited at the recent Waikato show were judged at the Westfield Freezing Works by Mr. Hansen, inspector for the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board., The results are now available as follows:—
Black Faces.—Paerangi Estate (A. Miller) 1, W. Chitty 2, Te Minu Estate, pen 1144, 3.
White Faces.—Whewell Bros. (Tamahere) 1, R. T. Martin (Rototuna) 2.
That Waikato can hold its own in the' matter of early lamb production has been demonstrated by a line of lambs killed from the Tuhikaramea district last week from the farm of Messrs. Gore and Livingstone, where they have approximately 1200 lambs. Their first draft of 780 averaged 36.81b, all practically being first-grade. These have been shipped to London, and should catch an early market.
