RIFLE SHOOTING.
AKAKANA RIFLE CLUB.
The members of the Akarana Rifle Club competed for trophies presented by Mr. F. Kearsley, Mr. E. J. C. Reston and Mr. F. Atkinson, by firing; two ten-shot shoots at 300 yds. There was a good attendance of members and despite a strong, westerly wind some good shooting was registered. In the shoot-off between I. Hammond, R. Pye and B. Fyson, for the president's trophy, B. M. Tyson proved the winner with a score of 21 points for five shots. Silver spoon* ■were won by Messrs. Powell, T. Elliott and R. Pye. Scores:— A Section (Mr. F. Kearsley's Trophy).— A. W.
