TO VISIT DOMINION.

GETTING FIRST-HAND INFORMATION. * After having visited South Africa and Australia, the Right lion. L. C. M. S. Amery, Secretary of State for the Dominions, the first British Cabinet Minister to visit New Zealand while in office, arrived this morning in Auckland by the Niagara. He will make a quick but comprehensive tour of the Dominion, and then go on to Canada, which will complete the chain of visits, and then he will arrive Home in time for the opening of Parliament in February next. He is accompanied by Mrs. Amery, who has frequently entertained >Jew Zealanders in London, and is looking forward to meeting many old friends. This is her first visit to New Zealand, though her famous husband was here in 1913 with the British Parliamentary party. Accompanying Mr. Amery officially are Captain W. Brass. \T,P.. Parliamentary secretary, Mr. G. G. Wiskard, and Mr. G. Huxley, official? of Mr. Amery'3 Department.

A cordial rece;i + ion to Auckland in clr.ded welcomes by the Mayor (Mr Georpe Baildon) and the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. J. G. Coates). On board the Niagara Mr. Amery was met by Mr James Hislop, Secretary of Internal Affairs, on behalf of the Government.
