THREE MEN DISQUALIFIED,
OWNERSHIP OF HORSES

ESTVERCARGILL, this day,
The adjourned meeting of the Southland District Committee, in connection with the ownership of the horses Marmont, Mountain Rose and Mark Twain, when Joseph Frederick Jones was disqualified for a term of three years, was continued last night.
After careful consideration it wai decided that H. C. Mountney, F. A. Hay and D. H. Jones be disqualified for a term of six months for a corrupt practice under part XXXI*., section 1, subsections (c) and (j) of the Rules of Racing.
The subjections mentioned state: (c) If in this or any other country any person wilfully enter or start, or cause or procure to be entered or started for any race, a horse which he knows or believes to be disqualified, or not to be qualified to be entered or to start for such race; or wilfully enter a horse for a race unless entitled under these rules to do bo; or (j) wilfully fail to register any partnership, sale, lease or other dealing by these rules required to be registered . . . shall be deemed guilty of a corrupt practice.
