PLANS FOR CHRISTCHTTRCH.
PROPOSAL TO SPEND £1,370,000.

CHRISTCHURCH, this day,
Christchureh City Council has approved of a report by the engineer proposing to spend £1,370,000 on improvements to the city's roads and bridges.
The Hillsboro' Club's art union was drawn last evening in the club's pavilion by Sergeant Cruickshahk, of Onehunga, assisted by Mrs. White, wife of Mr. P. White, of the Bank of New Zealand, Auckland. The winning ticket. No. 4736, was held by the president of the club, Mr. Raymond Sheath, who was heartily congratulated by those present.
