DANGEROUS DRIVING.
PROSECUTIONS IN WAIHI. MAN'S LICENSE CANCELLED. (£ Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. Baden Powell Crocker, a young man, was charged in the Police Court with dangerous driving, unlawfully converting a car to his (>wn use and failing to produce a driver's license. The first charge was the sequel to a recent accident, when the car driven by Crocker knocked down a man named Paul Sweet and injured his head. Defendant was convicted and fined £7 and his driving license was cancelled for two years. Jack Leaf, a taxi driver, who collided with a trap and caused injuries to be received by Mrs. Tierney, was fined £3, costs £3 2/, for dangerous driving.
