CHANGE MADE.
ORGANISATION TO AGENCY. BENEFIT TO MOTORISTS. A special meeting of the Hamilton branch of the Auckland Automobile Association to consider whether it was in the best interests of motorists to change the organisation of the branch to an agency and thus oring Hamilton into line with the rest of the Auckland province, was held yesterday. The advantages accruing from the agency system were explained by Messrs. A. Grayson, H. Jones, J. Park and the Service Officer, Mr.- R. A. Champtaloup. After a considerable amount of discussion, the following resolution was carried by a large majority:— "That it is the opinion of this meeting that a change in the organisation of this branch to an agency is in the best interests of motorists in this district." The actual date of the change has been left with the Hamilton executive to arrange with headquarters. The agency system of the A.A.A. was adopted after the recent visit of the secretary, Mr. Geo. W. Hutchison, to England, where he fully went into the matter of organisation with the world's largest motoring organisation, the A.A. of Great Britain. It is on similar lines that the Auckland Association is now being modelled. It is the opinion of the A.A.A. that service can be " better dispensed at a much lower cost, and greater benefits will be available to motorists under the new system.
