TRADE AND TECHNICAL SCHOOLS. (By Telegraph.—l'rrss Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. - Hie Apprentices Bill, which is designed to provide better distribution of the proportion of apprentices over an industrial district, was discussed in the House to-night. Messrs. McKeen and Sullivan contended that employers were selfishly I not taking their proper share of appren- i tices. The Leader of the Opposition said Reform members must not blame tlir Labour laws fcT the present position, but they should blame their own immigration policy. The Minister in reply said one of the future developments would be trade schools run by employers at which apprentices can be taupht. The technical schools would also have to tea.ch the rudiments of trades, because the development'of machinery was so great that boys could not otherwise be taught their trade. .JVlore would have to be done than the present Act provided.
