MOTORISTS IN TROUBLE. OFFENCES STILL CONTINUE. A number of motorists were prosecuted in the Magistrate's Court this morning before Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., for breaches of the city by-laws. Mr. G. R. Hogan (chief traffic inspector) prosecuted. On charges of dangerous driving, R. Farrell was fined £3 with costs; F. Duggan, L. Bernard, L. Faram, £2, with costs; C. Sutherland, I. Woldge, £1, with costs; and F. A. Read, 10/, with costs. Turning to the -right in Queen Street during prohibited hours, cost C. Lanstaff, |B. Smith and H. Webber £1, with costs. [ A fine of £2, with costs, was imposed on W. B. Brough for speeding across Grafton Bridge when traffic conditions were heaver. W. Crouch and W. Peet failed to obey traffic officers and were fined £1, with testa, and J. Braid ordered to pay costs on a a iimlar charge. For catting corners, R. Powell and R. Chiplin were -fined £2/ with costs. Leaving their ears unattended cost S. Ginsberg, C. Jameron, D. O'Donnell and R. T. Wilkinson- 10/; with costs, and C. I A. Lee was ordered to pay costs. J. H. Hooton was ordered to pay costs for having no taximeter on liis car. For not having his taximeter sealed by an inspector L. Drum was fined £1, with coats. ■ -:f'. r •-v,W. E. The Mount Eden Borough Councireprosecuted Archibald Bros, for permitting a lorry to be used without a heavy traffic license. A fine of £5, with costs, was imposed. G. Neeson was ordered to pay costs for operating the lorry and was fined 10/, with costs, for not having a reflector attached. On charges of smoking in a shed on the Central wharf and of continuing to do so after having been directed by the traffic manager to withdraw from the shed, F. Shannon was ordered to pay costs. On informations laid by Newmarket Borough Council, <J. W Morgan was ordered to pay costs *cr permitting a lorry to be used without a heavy traffic license, and W. M. Fulton was ordered to pay costs for operating the lorry. Police Cases. Tlie police prosecutions were taken before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. For negligent driving B. V. Busliell was ordered to pay costs and had his license endorsed; R. Farrant was fined £1, Kwong Sing £2, and W. A. Tabron , was ordered to pay costs. Speeding cost J. D. Curtayne £2. A fine of £2 was imposed on H. W. Hawthorne for passing a stationary tramcar. Pillion riding cost I. W. Motion 10/. W. A. Price turned to the right without giving the i-ignal-and was fined £1. For parking bis car too near a street intersection, G. L. Sandford was fined 10/. For leaving their car a unattended in Queen Street for more than 15 minutes, J. K. Austin and M. S. Dunne were fined £1, T. F. Clarke. M. Gifford; H. L. M. Horrocks and T. W. McLaughlin 10/, and , G. L. Sandfosd. ordered to pay costs. Fines of £1 were imposed on M. C. Grise and A. S. Vaughan for leaving their cars unattended in Karangahape Road. On charges of not having their cars properly lighted, J. W. IbbetsW and L. J. W. Paul were fined £2, T. E. Copsey, E. McQueen and T. R. Wilkinson 10/, and J. Henning ordered to pay costs. The fines were plus costs.
