THE KELLYS.
FIGHTING IST THE STREET. , "IT WAS A TOSS-UP." "Has anyone here seen Kelly?" runs the well-known song.
A constable on duty in Hobson Street yesterday saw two Kellys, William fames (30) and John Kelly (42). As it happened, neither is an Irishman, and they are not related to each other—but they were fighting in the street. Both were gathered in on a charge of indulging in a fistic discussion. Both Kellys pleaded guilty at the Police Court this moniing.
"Just an ordinary 'fight, I suppose?" asked Mr. Hunt, the .magistrate. "No, it was more than that," said Sergeant Calwell. "It was a toss-up as to whether it was a violent assault by one man on the other. One man kicked the other, but when the constable came on the scene they were both fighting, tliov were not under the influence of •••••" tVy admit .the charge, so ; "-h lin?d/£l," said Mr. Hunt.
