CANADIAN PROSPECTOR SAILS.

Three overseas steamers, the Canadian Challenger and the Schouwen, both from Montreal, and the Kartigi, from Melbourne, arrived at Auckland this morning. There was also one overseas sailing, the Canadian Prospector, for New York. The Cambridge is expected to sail this afternoon for New York and the Ocean Transport this evening for New Plymouth. Cumberland, Liverpool, October 24. UNION COMPANY'S STEAMERS. The Waimea was dispatched last night for Gisborne and Napier. The Tofua is to sail at 11 a.m. on Saturday for FIJI. Tonga and Samoa. The Waipiata Is to sail at noon tomorrow for Lytteiton, Dunedln, Oamaru and Timaru. -She will not now call at Wellington on her trip south. The Waipiata Is to load at Dunedin about Wednesday of next week for Auckland, via Ommau. Timaru, Lytteiton and Wellington. The Kurow has been fixed to load at Bluff about Monday next for Auckland, via Timaru, Lytteiton, Wellington and Plcton. The Kaltangata Is expected to arrive at Napier from Newcastle to-morrow. Thence she will come to Auckland, via Glsborne, to complete discharge.

The Katoa left Dnnedin at 5.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, via Oamaru, Tinaaru, Lyttelton and Wellington. The Waiporl to expected to arrive from Napier early this evening. After discharge at Auckland she is to go to Portland, New Plymouth and Oreymouth.

The Kalmanawa was expected to leave Westport at 5 a.m. to-day for Auckland. The Wlngatul is expected to arrive this evening or to-morrow morning from Plcton. The Richardson steamer Awahou was unable to complete cargo operations last evening, but sailed to-day for East Coast ports. For further discharge of her cargo from Pacific Coast ports, the American steamer West Isllp ig expected to sail to-morrow evening for Wellington, Lytteiton, Dunedln, Bluff and New Plymouth. PAKEHA TO SAIL. At present berthed at the Prince's wharf, the S.S. and A. Line steamer Pakeha is to sail daybreak to-morrow for Wellington and -Napier, to complete discharge of her Home cargo. THE MATAKANA. With general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington and New Plymouth, the Shaw. Savill and Albion steamer Mats Sα"?' wn,ch arrived at London from New Zealand on September 1, is to leave London on October 12. She is due here abou November 23. NIAGARA NEARI.NG SUVA. En route from Vancouver, the Royal Mail liner Niagara is expected to arrive at Suva on Friday morning and at Auckland on Monday morning. The Union Company announce that she was to leave here at 10 p.m. on Monday for Sydney. THE PORT GISBORNE. On her maiden voyage to New Zealand, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line's new motorship Port Gisborne Is expected to arrive at Wellington from London, via Suva, on October 1. The vessel, which left Panama on Saturday, will also discharge at Lytteiton and Nelson. THE CAMBRIDGE. Owing to the rain this morning, the Federal Line steamer Cambridge was unable to complete cargo operations In time to sail for New York, Boston, London, and West Coast of United Kingdom ports at mid-day. It is hoped to dispatch her this afternoon. KARTIGI.FROM MELBOURNE. With general cargo from Melbourne, the Union Company's steamer Kartigi arrived at Auckland this morning, and after inspection berthed at the Central wharf. She left Melbourne at 3 p.m. on Wednesday lost, and had fine weather throughout the voyage. She is to sail for Portland at 10 p.m. to-day. THE SUSSEX. Bringing general cargo from the East, the steamer Sussex Is expected to arrive at Auckland from Calcutta on Monday next, according to advice received by the Union Company. From Auckland she is to go to Southern ports to complete discharge. Later the Sussex will load coal at Newcastle for Java. PORT HUNTER AGAIN DELAYED. Bad weather has further delayed the loading of the C. and D. steamer Port Hunter at southern ports, and she Is not now expected to reach Auckland to fill up until September 17. It to hoped to dispatch her for London and West Coast U.K. ports, via Montevideo, on September 21. Heather Roberton, Ltd.. are the local agents. RUAHINE'S ITINERARY. An alteration In the Ruahines Itinerary Is announced by the New Zealand Shipping Co. The vessel, which was previously expected to arrive from Glsborne to-morrow, will now go first to Wellington to lift cat go. She is expected to leave Wellington on Saturday and is Cue here on Monday for final loading. The Ruahine la to sail from Auckland for Southampton and London, via Panama, on September 17. MATAROA CLEARED BALBOA. A. S. Peterson, Ltd., have been advised by cable that the Shaw. Savill and Albion steamer Mataroa, en route from London and Southampton, left Balboa for Auckland last Monday morning. She is now doe her* on September 26, and after unloading the local portion of her cargo, is to go to Dunedln to complete discharge. She is to return to Auckland for final loading on October 24. and it is hoped to dispatch her for London on the 28th.

SCHOUWJEX FROM MONTREAL. To the New Zealand Shipping Co's. agency, the Dutch eteamer Schouwen arrived at Auckland from Montreal this morning. After Inspection In the stream, she berthed at the Kings wharf. The Schouwen, which has visited Auckland on three previous occasions, commenced loading, chiefly paper, at Cornerbrook CNewfoundlasd), and later went to Montreal to lift further cargo. Thence ehe proceeded to Newport News to fill up, and , sailed from there on August 4. Transit through the Panama Canal was obtained on August 10. In the Pacific One weather was experienced, with strong westerly winds towards the end of the voyage. During her passage across the Pacific the vessel was only a short distance astern or the Canadian Challenger, which had cleared Balboa twelve hours ahead of her. The Schouwen is expected to sail to-morrow for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedln for further discharge. Later she will go to Port Plrle to load a full cargo cf concentrates for the United Kingdom or the Continent. Captain T. Bora retains command of the steamer. CANADIAN CHALLENGER ARRIVED. After an uneventful voyage from Montreal, the Canadian Government eteamer Canadian Challenger (Captain O. Williams) arrived at Auckland this morning, berthing at the Queen'a wharf. The vessel sailed from Montreal on July 25, and called at Sydney (Cape Breton) to complete her cargo with steel. Leaving Sydney on July 29, ehe experienced fine weather to Colon, where she arrived on August 9. After taking In oil fuel, the vessel sailed from Panama the same day. Average condition* prevailed across the Pacific, with, strong westerly winds when approaching New Zealand. The Canadian Challenger is expected to sail on Friday morning for Wellington, Lyttelton. Timaru, and Dnnedin to complete discharge and to commence loading for New York, Boston, and Montreal. Captain Williams has with him the following officers:—First, Mr. L. Wentxell: second, Mr. F. Smith; third, Mr. G. Allen; wireless operator, Mr. J. Dolg; chief engineer, Mr. J. Daries; second. Mr. H. Simpson; third. Mr. P. Patterson; fourth, Mr J. Crlchton: chief steward, Mr. J McDougall. Mr. R. Fuller, who was chief officer of the steamer on her last visit to New Zealand, la now master of the Canadian Hunter, in the London-Antwerp service, while Mr. D. Clark, formerly second officer has transferred to the Canadian Conqueror.
