OBITUARY.
MR. OLIVER K2TUCKXT.
OLD TARANAKI RESIDENT.
The death took place at New Plymouth on Tuesday of Mr. Oliver Knuckey, who arrived at Taranaki with his parents 85 yean ago by the barque Essex when four years of age. Mr. Knuckey was born in Cornwall in 1838. During the war with the Maoris he was on the staff of the commissariat. In Utter life he was fanning at Lepperton and also Eltham. He married Miss Elizabeth D. Douglass, who predeceased him. There were no children. Mr. Knuckey is believed to be the hist survivor oi the passengers by the barque Essex.
