BOGUS BARONETS.

SIXTY DISCOVERED. LONDON, August 12. Sixty bogus baronets are missing from the roll published by the Standing Council of the Baronetage, Colonel Pixley, the Council's registrar, explains that the Home Office asked him to prepare an authentic roll in 1911. The roll has now been completed, after much trouble. Many abusive letters were received from those whose names were omitted. They were invited to go before the Privy Council, but only 12 argued their case. There, were two claimant* for one title, and both were disallowed. Most of the bogus baronet* were listed in reference books, which were presented at Court. Some were convinced that they really were baronets, but many must have known the truth. Several carried on titles wrongly adopted by their ancestors. Colonel Pixley discovered one notorious impostor, whose castle was an insignificant tumbledown cottage in Scotland.
