THREE MEN IN A CART.

ALL DRUNK. EXCEPT THE HORSE. DRIVER FIXED £2. A horse and a emit, which contained three men was proceeding down Melroee Street, Newmarket, yesterday, when the whole outfit was stopped by an inquisitive constable. The driver, Victor Wilfred Flood (61) was arrested for being drunk while in charge of tlie vehicle, and he pleaded guilty when brought before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.JL, at the Police Court this morning. The horse that drew the cart, was the only sober one in the party, for Senior Sergeant Edwards said that both Flood's companions in the cart were drunk. Flood wae fined £2, or 7 days' imprisonment, and was given a fortnight to pay.
