THREE SERIOUS CHARGES.
CHRISTCHTJRCH VriPREMK COURT. MURDER OF CHILD ALLEGED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. There are eight prisoners for trial at the criminal sessions of the Supreme Court. Mr. Justice Adams said that two of the indictments were of a somewhat serious - nature. One was a charge against a woman of having murdered her child of four months. . It was a deplorable case. The other serious case was against three men who were charged with having used an instrument for the purpose of procuring a miscarriage. The grand jury would have no difficulty in coming to a conclusion. Regarding the charge against William Kitson of having made a bet with a bookmaker, his Honor said that cases of that kind were usually dealt with by a lower Court, but for some reason accused preferred to be tried by a jury.
