CONVENT FATALITY
EIGHT NUNS SHOT. MADRID, August 7. The newspaper "El Sol" publishes a terrible etory of a father's vengeance for his daughter. The girl was a pupil in a Madrid convent. She is said to have seen a man assault one of the nuns, and although she was warned to keep silent she told her parents of the incident. The story alleges that when the girl returned to the convent she was maimed and ill-treated and then locked in .a room. Hearing no news of his daughter the father searched the institution, aided by the police. When he found the girl it ia said that her plight so distracted him that he ran amok with a revolver and killed eight nuns and wounded two others. The newspaper censorship precludes further details being published.— (A. and N.Z. and Sydney "Sun."),
