"STAR" INSURANCE.
Safeguards Against Modern
Dangers.
"THE PACE THAT KILLS."
SPECIAL CLAUSES FOR SPORTS ACCIDENTS. ''It's the pace that kills. ,. The oldtime hunting axiom holds good even in these days of mechanical progress. The one and only Jorrocks once remarked that a fall was a "hawful" thing; how much more disastrous is a fall on a concrete pavement than on a grassy meadow.
But these mechanical days have their compensations, after all. If you live long enough, and work hard enough you will probably have a motor car of your own. Live a little longer and work a little harder, and you will own a fleet of motor buses; a little longer, and you will control all of those diabolical engines of destruction, whether driven by steam or by benzoline, which carry us so safely to our respective destinations —but occasionally kill us in the process ! In the meantime, the ordinary citizen cannot do better than insure himself against accident.
Insurance used to be a costly process, but we have progressed, and a progressi\e daily newspaper is now able to offer its readers something for nothing, in the truest sense of the term. The " Star's " insurance scheme makes no demand upon the public save that of filling in the registration form, which will be found on another page. You may become a readersubscriber in any manner you like— from runner, news-agent, bookstall, or by pre-paid posted subscription. There is no premium to be paid; there is no medical examination, and, most important of all, one registration covers both husband and wife. The benefits arc :—
.€IOOO Death as result of Accident to Passenger Train. £1000 Death as result of Wrecking of Passenger Steamer. .£IOOO Doath as result of Accident to a Lift.
C 250 Death as result of Accident to Public Conveyance. £ 250 Total Disablement from any of above causes. £ 100 Partial Disablement from any of above causes. £ 150 Death as result of Accident on Public Highway. £ 100 Total Disablement from Accident on Public Highway. £ 50 Partial Disablement from Accident on Public Highway. £ 150 Drowned while Boating or Bathing. £ 150 Killed "while engaged in specified Sports. £ 150 Total Disablement while engaged in specified Sports. £ 50 Partial Disablement while engaged in specified Sports. It will be observed that the clauses governing accidents in the field of sports is particularly generous. Provision for partial disablement is also on a far-reaching scale. In the conditions governing this insurance there is one clause —K— that we wish to stress. It reads: "No person fhall be entitled to benefit under the foregoing insurance, "who at the time of the accident is entitled to benefits under a free insurance given by any other paper in New Zealand."
If you have not already filled in the form and sent it to this office, do so now.
