MANUKAU YACHT CLUB. THIKTY-SEVENTH ANNUAL PRIZE NIGHT. The Manukau Yacht and Motor Boat Club held their thirty-seventh annual prize night in the clubhouse, Onehuuga, on Saturday, the function being tho best of its kind in the history of this old-established club. "The president, Mr. M. H. Wynyard, presided, supported by the patron, Sir Frederic Lang, Commodore N. E. Wilson, Mr. W. C. Coldicutt, Mayor of Onehunga, Mr. A. MeLeod, president-elect, and Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P. The guests included representatives from local bodies, also flag officers from all sister clubs on the Munukau and Waitemata Harbours.

Mr. Wynyard, in extending a welcome to the visitors, said they were pleased to have such a big attendance. The club had a very successful year, both from a racing point of view, and financially, assets exceeding liabilities by over £ 1200. The clubhouse had been almost destroyed by lire, but was How in better order than ever. Some thirty races were held, and the good sporting spirit of members was shown by the fact that no protest had been received. Apologies were sent by Mr. J. W. Krater, Commodore Royal N.Z. Yacht Squadron, Mr. H. R. Mackenzie, chairman Auckland Harbour Hoard, Mr. Geo. Baildon, Mayor of Auckland, and Capt. H. H. Sergeant, Harbourmaster.

Mr. Wynyard presented the prizes, which made a tine display, and included 12 cups. Ihe principal winners were as follow:— lachts: Merry Jest, champion cup, Capt. It. Gibbons' pennant, Drysdale cup, College cup, and three other prizes; Rover, Mistral, Sea Toiler and Westward, four prizes each; Valdora, three prizes; Betty, Limelight and Mystery, two prizes each. Launches: Naughty Girl, seven prizes, including Messrs. R. and W. Hellaby's special prize !<>r best-kept boat; Kaiapoi, seven prizes; Mavis, five prizes; All Black, four prizes; N>ot, three prizes, including the White Horsft Cup; Norma, three prizes; Karma iincl Ngaroma, two prizes each ; Lily Meg, Leila, Miharo and Elma, one prize each.

A lengthy toast list was honoured as follows :• —"Vice-presidents and Donors of I'rizes," proposed by Mr. A. Belcaer, responded to by Mr. Tom Pardington; "Kindred Clubs," proposed by Commodore Wilson, and responded to by Messrs. J. C Hewson (R.N.Z.Y.S.), W. Goodison (P.C.C.), 1. McKay (A.Y.C.), and J. Filmer (M.C G ) ; "The Auckland Harbour Board and Local Bodies," proposed by Mr. A. McLeod, and responded to by Messrs. AX. H. Wynyard and W. <:. Coldicutt; 'Our Legislators," proposed by Mr. T. Pardington, and responded to by Sir Frederic Lang and Mr. VV. J Jordan; "The Manukau Yacht Club," proposed by Mr. W. A. Wilkinson, and responded to by Commodore Wilson. The artists, the Press, and Mr. Ernest Davis were also toasted and duly acknowledged.

Mr. C. A. Osborne was presented with a life member's certificate and medal by the president.

During the evening an excellent musical programme, under the direction of Mr Will Purcell, was provided by Messrs. Calvert Bieki-rton, Bruce, Shott, Blake, Forshaw and Samuels.
