TANOL CUP RETAINED. WIN FOR AUCKLAND JUNIORS. DEVOXrORT SHIELD PRODUCES EXCITING GAMES. Additional interest was centred at the Remuera hockey grounds on Saturday when the Zanol Cup for the Junior Championship of Xew Zealand was decided in addition to the association matches for the Devonport Shield. The Zanol Cup was held by Auckland who were called upon to defend a challenge from Canterbury. A well-contested game, in which Auckland held a slight advantage, ended in a victory for the holders by 3 goals to 2. The Devonport Shield games were full of interest, and a couple of surprises wero brought oIT. Epiphany upset calculations by defeating Training College by an odd goal. St. Lukes and the Somerville Colts played a drawn game of one goal apiece. University added points with the big score of 7 goals ten 2 against Mount Eden. Somerville had a hard go with 'Varsity Colts and emerged victors by 4 goals to 1, but the score hardly indicates the game. Areta accounted for Wesley by 4 goals to 1.
