LABT WEEK OF COMPACT. CITY COUNCIL TAKES OVER XHI MONDAY. Control of the fleet of G.O.C. tmet, which are engaged in passenger tnatport to Avondale, New Lynn and nhous western suburbs, will be taken over by the Auckland City Council on lienday next. For a week or two the council «ffl run the service without any Alteration, and during that time will make a decision as to the future policy in regard to them. The council had also adopted the policy that only services which were reasonably payable should be continued. It was not possible to decide upon a future policy on the basis of the records of the printe company at present operating, bnt the committee would be able to make a recommendation about the middle of tie month.
