ONEHUNGA POLICE COURT.
CONFLICTING EVIDENCE. (Before Mr. F. K. Hunt. S.M.) A conflict in the evidence for the prosecution resulted in the charge of negligent driving against W. A. Gallagher being dismissed. When Percy Harrington and Herbert Oliphant Stewart were charged with negligent driving, Mr. Hunt said he knew all about the case as in Auckland he had heard all the witnesses in a civil action, which had arisen over the collision between the defendants' vehicles. He was satisfied then that Harrington was not to blame, and the present charge of negligent driving would be dismissed without calling any witnesses for the prosecution. Stewart was convicted and ordered to pay costs amounting to £10 3/.
Sidney Marshall was ordered to pay 15/ for riding a bicycle on the footpath, and Geo. H. Graham 20 ' for riding a bic;-r!o at night without a light. I.e>liv H. B. Pipe pot oil with h. conviction and the payment of costs for colliding with a bicycle. He was on the wrong 6ide of the road, and the bicycle had no lights.
