Mr. W. S. Spence, secretary of the Auckland Racing Club returned from Wellington on Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Sutherland, of Dunedin, and Mr. F. Burton, of Hamilton, are at the Grand Hotel.

Mr. W. F. O'Donnell, the new secretary of the Auckland A. and P. Association, has commenced his duties.

Dr. A. B. Sturtevant has been appointed resident doctor at Raglan. He succeeds Dr. R. Cashmorc, who has resigned.

Mr. William Donald, of the Commonwealth and Dominion Line, left Auckland by the Port Hardy for London yesterday after a tour of the Dominion.

Mr. E. Anderson leaves by the Limited this evening for Wellington to join the Tahiti for Papeete on a business visit. He expects to return to Auckland about the end of August.

Mr. D. R. Hamilton, who lias been secretary of the Franklin Agricultural and Pastoral Society for ten years, has resigned his post, for private reasons, says the "Star's" correspondent.
