FIRE CHIEF DECORATED.

TAUMARUNUI, Sunday. At the annual social of the Taumarunui Fire Brigade, the Mayor, Mr. G. E. Manson, presented Superintendent R. H. Ross with the gold star awarded by the United Fire Brigades' Association in recognition of 25 years of continuous service in fire brigades. Superintendent Ross served 13 years with the Hokitika brigade and the remainder of the term in Taumarunui.
