The Hon. C. J. Carrington, M.L.C., left for Wellington by last night's tram. Messrs. C. W. Wilde and E. Eric-kson, of" Whit ford, are at the Commercial Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. D. Potts, of Katikati, and Mr. K. G. Barron, of Longreach, Queensland, are at the Star Hotel. Dr. J. P. F. Waters arrived in Wellington yesterday fn■ n London, to join the" Mental Hospitals Department. In England ho was neurological specialist of the Ministry of Pensions.

The following were admitted barristers by Mr. Justice Herdman in the Supremo Court, Hamilton, yesterday: Mr. R. 11. Robb, Taumarunui; Mr. H. M. Hammond, of Hamilton; and Mr. J. N. Baxter, of Hamilton.

Mr. L. C. IT.
