WELLINGTON, Wednesday. A meeting of the Council of tlie New Zen[land liugby Union was held to-night. 'I'lic 'Slaiiawatu-Horowheiiua Union challenged tlic Wairarapa Union for the Raufurly Shield, dates suggested being August 0 oils. In the event of Hawke's Bay winning the shield on July 9, Slanawatu-Horowlientm asked that its match with Hawke's Bay on July 30 should be a shield match. The Palmerston North Boys' High School lodged a challenge for the Sloascar Cup, held by To Ante College. The British Columbia Ilugb.r Union advised that the British Columbia University team which won the British Columbia Rugby championship last year was anxious for an invitation to visit New Zealand next, season. The iL-r.iter was referred to the Finance' Committee to report to the next meeting on cost of such a tour.
