MR. COCHRANE STATEMENT. ' ißecived 9 a.m.) LOXDOX. June 28. Mr. Coehran interviewed, said he saw Mrs. Xuthall for the first time yesterday and assured her that any offer she had recehed had been without his knowledge.
He discussed Betty's earning possibilities in tlie event of her becoming protessionnl. He had not made a proposal and was greatly annoyed at the reports of tlie fantastic Minis offered, for which there was 110 basis of fact. Mr. C. 15. Cochran, the theatrical magnate and the promoter of the coming worlds middleweight championship fight between the Britisher, Tommy Milligan, and Mickey talker, of U.S.A., was stated to be the man behind the gigantic j offer. but in a later cable received, he I denies having made any such offer or 'approached Miss Xuthall at ail.
