Labour's Protest Against Lords Reform Scheme. CENSURE MOTION. (By Cable—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, June 2S. The Parliamentary Labour party has giv ii notice of a censure motion, regretting that the Government has brought dowu a scheme with fundamental changes in the House of Lord* which jerrymanders the constitution iu the interests of the Conservatives and deprives the House of Commons of the control of the finances. The motion contends that this entrenches the Lord-J on a hereditary basis more firmly against the people's will than for centuries, is in defiance of every modern precedent and robs the electors of the power to deal with the Lords. Therefore, the motion declares, it will be an outrage on the constitution by forcing tiich proposals without a man da te. If well enough Mr. Ramsay Mat-Don-ald will move the motion, otherwise Mr. Clynes tires the first shot and Mr. Philip Snowden seconds.— (A. and N.Z and Sydney "Sun."")
