"NO CONFIDENCE MOTIONS."
I ■ ■ UNEMPLOYED AND LABOUB ALLIANCE. SECRETARY SPEAKS PLAINLY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. "You can't pass no-confidence motions ' in ua and then expect us to come crawling after you. Wo are not going to ' allow a body of men, many of whom are not trade unionists, to come here • and tell us we are not doing oui • job properly. If you are going to dc ; that, then we might aa well tell you to go and do the job your own way." Such was the statement of Mr. W. Bromley, secretary of the Unemploy- ' meat Committee of the District Council ' of the Alliance of Labour, at a meeting of the unemployed to-day, following the submission of a motion urging the unemployed to refuse any work offered them, unless paid at trade union rates. Mr. Bromley contended that the motion was one of no confidence. The discussion at times was heated but the motion was eventually declared ' carried by a small majority. One request . was that the unemployed should be giver representation on the committee, but ' Mr. Bromley explained that there wai ' no power under the constitution to dc i this. The committee's main concert ; . was to find work for the unemployed.
