MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) MORRINS VILLE, Saturday. An average yarding of beef was submitted by the Farmers' Auctioneering Co., Ltd., it their fortnightly sale at Morrinsville, but prices were firm. There waa not much competition for sheep, of which few were offered, and prices showed a tendency to fall off. Good prices were secured for pigs, bidding being brisk for the few lines offered. Considering the time of the year, the prices that ruled for dairy cattle were good. Quotations were as follow:— Beef. —Prime fat cows, £7 14/ to £8 10/; fat cows, £4 12/6 to £6; light and unfinished, £4 to £4 17/6; fat heifers, £4 10/ to £5 18/; fresh condition cows, £2 16/ to £3 17/6; store cows, £1 15/ to £2 14/; cows with calves, £3 11/ to £4 5/; boners, £1 to £1 5/; empty heifers, £2 to £3 7/6; heifer calves, 32/; bulls, £2 5/ to £4 15/. Sheep.—Fat ewes, 21/9; good store lambs, 14/9. Pigs.—Heavy baconers, £3 7/; porkers, medium, £2 10/ to £2 14/; lighter, £2 2/ to £2 8/; stores, good, £1 15/ to £1 17/; lighter, £1 8/ to £1 14/; slips, £13/ to £1 6/; weaners, good, 17/; smaller 6/ to 12/; sows, due to farrow, £8 5/ to £8 15/. Dairy Cattle.—Heifers, good, close to profit, £8 to £12; backward sorts, £3 to £6; cows, close to profit, £8 10/ to £11; backward eorts, £3 to 4 10/.
