FAINTED AND FELL.
■ MAN ON RAILWAY BRIDGE. SEVERE INJURY TO SPINE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.* TAIHAPE. Saturday. A most unusual accident occurred at the railway station at Taihape this morning, when Joseph B. Anderson, while mounting the steps of the overhead railway bridge, fainted and fell backwards. He was picked up unconscious on the platform at the base of the steps. Dr. MacDiarmid was immediately summoned and the injured man was conveyed to the Taihape hospital, where it was discovered that his spine was severely twisted at the base of the skull. His condition is critical.
