A GOOD FILLY.
THE GOLDEN RUN. The Colden Run—Sweet Palm filly must be about the best two-year-old of her sex that has been seen out, and for that m.'itter it is doubtful if there are many—if any— colts of her age that can beat her, says an English writer. It was a very impressive display Hogg's charge gave when cantering away with the Enfield Plate at Alexandra Park 011 April 2S, Gordon Richards dropping his hands on her long before she pot to the winning post. A rich bay, with silver hairs in her tail, she has strong, powerful quarters, and has great length from hip to hock. Her back is a little dipped, while she has rather a masculine-looking head. She is probably the first winner that Mr. H. B. P. Brock has bred. Mr. Brock was encouraged to take up breeding by Mr. Edmunds, who manages Lord Roseberv's stud. He gave ISOOgns for Sweet Palm from the Melton Stud, and Mr. J. Brown bought her filly at the Newmarket July Sales for 670gns. Yesterday's winner is heavily engaged, her nine "book" liabilities including the Queen Mary Stakes at Ascot.
