If the great French player should retire, the lawn tennis world will lcse a great personality and wonderful player. Aged 26, he is just now at the top of his powers, and ranks only a sr.ade below his great compatriot, Lacoste. i:i the opinion of many experts. He i= a volatile personility, and very poptiiar with the uiblic. Since 1921. when he really sprang into prominence, he has won many French championships. In 1924
lie won both tbr French championship and the singles at 'Wimbledon, and in IP2-T lie won the U.S.A. covered court championship. In 1026 he beat Kinsev (U.S.A.: in the singles final at Wimbledon.
