NEW ZEALAND CHILDREN.
In his statement to the Board <>f Health at Wellington on Tuesday, Dr. M. H. Watt, Deputy-Inspector-General of Health, said that an investigation as to the weight and height of New Zealand children had been carried out by tlio school officers of the Health Department. The results showed that New Zealand school children between the ages of 10 and 15 years exceeded in height and weight those of Australia, Great Britain. America, and Toronto, according to the latest available statistics. New Zealand town school children had definitely improved in height and in weight during the years 1913-25. Children of farmers are tallest and heaviest. Children of professional men are almost as tall, but show no excess in weight over the average. The average height and weight of children with good mental attainment is greater than those with inferior ability.
