NEW COMET.
OBSERVED FROM ONERABX
POSITION NEAR MERIDIAN
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WHANGAREI, this day. Mr. J. H. Home, of Onerahi, reports that he saw the new comet at 4.30 o'clock this morning, near meridian. It was reported by cable yesterday that a Sydney astronomer, Mr. W. F. Gale, had discovered a new comet. He gave its position as in risrht ascension 21 hours 38 minutes, declination south 31 degrees 38 minutes, and said it presents a diffused circular mass condensed near the middle. It is visible only by means of a telescope.
