I SHOULD NOT BE WITHDRAWN. LOCAL COMMERCIAL VIEW. In extending a welcome to Mr. L. B Beale. British Trade Commissioner foi i Xew Zealand at to-day's lunch meeting jof the Auckland Chamber of Commerce the chairman, Mr. A. G. Limn, expressed the view that it would be a great pity il the British Government carried intc effect its expressed intention of withdrawing its Trade Commissioners. Ht knew of many instances where the British representative had been of the utmost service in assisting Imperia trade, and he trusted that the Britisl Government would reconsider its atli I tude. (Applause.) I On Mr. Hudson's motion a resolutior I was then unanimously carried as foljlows: —"That in the opinion of those I present it would be a mistake from tin point of view of Imperial trade if the ■ Trade Commissioners were withdrawn.'
