WELLINGTON STATION.
PROPOSED TIMETABLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The general manager of the Radio Broadcasting Company of New Zealand, Ltd., Mr. H. R. Harris, states that Wellington's new broadcasting station, 2YA, will be officially opened on July 9, but after that a restricted service will be given until the whole intricate plant is working smoothly, so as to avoid breakdowns. The station will not be operating fully until the end of July. The time-table, said Mr. Harris, will be very elastic. The company proposes to commence its sessions every day at three o'clock except Wednesday* and Sundays. Probably the station will run on Sunday afternoons as well, especially in the winter months. Wednesday will be a silent day to overhaul the plant. Afternoon sessions will end about five o'clock and the children's session will commence at six o'clock every day except Wednesday.
Except on Sundays, when church services or band concerts will be relayed, news and instruction will commence at seven o'clock. At eight o'clock the ordinary entertainment will commence. Saturday will be a late night. There will be slight modifications, dependent on the importance of the occasion.
The above time-table will operate from -August 1.
