HOUSE NEXT TO FACTORY
PEOPLE ANNOYED BT NOISE. COURT AWARDS £1.3 DAMAGES. (By Telegraph—Own Correepunflent.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Hawke live close to f .Le premises of the Perfection Ice Cream Company in Manchester Street, and they told Mr. Justice Adams today that they had lost sleep and been ca'ised annoyance by the noise and vibration of the machinery. Plaintiffs claimed £100 damages and sought an injunction restiaining the factory from making the noise. The company denied that any annoyance had been caused.
After hearing evidence his Honor held that there was sufficient proof of noise, which constituted a nuisance. He allowed £15 damages.
