DANGER ENDED
Greek Royalist Intrigues Denounced. SENSATION CREATED. (Received 9.30 a.m.) ATHENS, June 1. The Ministry announces that it has successfully taken precautions against a military coup designed to frustrate the reinstatement of a few Royalist officers. M. Venizelos- has issued a manifesto against military interference in polities. Members of the Cabinet are of opinion that the danger which has threatened during the last 24 hours is now ended. An earlier message stated that a sensation had been created in Athens Ly the former Premier, M. Venizelos. publishing an article urging the Republican leaders to insist on the Coalition Government holding a plebiscite without delay for the purpose of confirming the new constitution. This, he argues, would end the intrigues of the Royalists, who continue to regard the Republican regime as having been illegally established, and who maintain a dangerous agitation which aims atr the restoration of the Monarchy by force. At a special meeting the Cabinet decide not to adopt the proposal, but the "Daily Express" says the situation may be complicated by the intervention of the military Government concentrating loyal troops at Salonica and Athens.
