PEDIGREE JERSEY SALE.
COW FETCHES 280 GUINEAS. The inclement weather militated against a large attendance at the pedigree Jersey sale which the* Farmers' Auctioneering Company, Ltd., conducted at Matamata on Tuesday on account of Mr. G. Death. The sale was without reserve and every lot was sold. On the whole, satisfactory prices were realised. The top price of the day was brought by the cow Nona's Glory which, after spirited bidding, went at 280gns to the Tamahert breeder, Mr. F. E. Day. Mr. W. Mears of Walton, paid 52gns for the cow Burford Eileen Sultana. The cow Anchoi Beauty was bought by Messrs. T. Heathei ind Son, of Waitekauri, for 31gns, while other cows sold from 15gns to 28gns The heifer Anchor Gloria, a daughter o] the cow purchased by Mr. Day, was bought by Mr. H. Hopkins, of Hinuera "or 50gne, and the heifer Walton Pene ope by Mr. H. Melrose, of Walton, foi !sgne. Other heifers sold up to 23gne ;he average for the 14 heifers in call leing 20%Rne.
