ONE MAN RUNS AWAY.
TWO OTHERS ARRESTED. FIXED FOR FIGHTLNG. Constable (TConnor was pateolling his beat in Federal Street last evening at il.ld and came across a . little job. Three men were observed fighting and he inanaped to gather in two of them. The third man ran awav. < . ■ *
William Bowler and Gilbert Parkin=on. who were arrested, duly made their appearance at the Police Court this morning, each pleading guilty t*» being drunk, but not jfnilty to fighting with each other.
The constable was positive that both men were exchanging blows. They were 'also both drunk and explained that they had been having an argument.
Bowler seid that he and Parkinson were mates. He had l>een assaulted by '"the third party."' Parkinson then came to his rescue.
Parkinson corroborated what his mate told Mr. W. R. MiKcan, S.M. .
As it was Howler's second offence for drunkenness he wns fined £1 or 4$ hours' imprisonment for. inebriarr and 10/. or 24 hours on tbe other charge. Parkinson was lined 10/ on each charge.
